In her work as a playwright, she focuses on the embodiment of racism, discrimination, and trauma. She examines how flight and exile are inscribed in bodies, while simultaneously opening spaces for solidarity and complicity.


PARADISO oder Der Geruch nach Asphalt (2024 / theater play / german ) Roxana Safarabadi, for example, searches for traces and observes the personal wounds and imprints of migration and the search for a sense of belonging. Her language is both tender and angry. She succeeds in making the voices of the often invisible audible and asserts the theater as a place of remembrance, resistance, and encounter.

LOST (Y)EAR ( 2024 /theater play / german ) This play is about three teenagers trying to survive in the chaos of everyday life. They must confront family problems, bullying, and the question of their existence on this planet and coexistence. It’s a wild road trip on the way to the Côte d’Azur, to Van Gogh’s psychiatric hospital.
